What Are the Symptoms of Diabetes?
At first, if you have diabetes, either type 1 or type 2, you may not have any symptoms. In fact, particularly with type 1 diabetes, often you have no idea that you have it until one day you are faced with a crisis.
The common symptoms of type 1 diabetes are:
- Feeling tired
- Feeling hungry
- Being very thirsty
- Urinating often
- Weight loss
- Blurry eyesight
- Odd sensations or tingling in your feet
If there were no previous signs or they weren’t noticed, it’s possible that you become quite ill, showing any of these symptoms:
- Deep, rapid breathing
- Dry skin and mouth
- Flushed face
- Fruity breath odor
- Nausea or vomiting, unable to keep down fluids
- Stomach pain
For type 2 diabetes, the symptoms include:
- Blurry vision
- Erectile dysfunction
- Fatigue
- Frequent or slow-healing infections
- Increased hunger
- Increased thirst
- Increased urination
