Sepsis and Diabetes

What Are the Symptoms of Diabetes?

At first, if you have diabetes, either type 1 or type 2, you may not have any symptoms. In fact, particularly with type 1 diabetes, often you have no idea that you have it until one day you are faced with a crisis.

The common symptoms of type 1 diabetes are:

  • Feeling tired
  • Feeling hungry
  • Being very thirsty
  • Urinating often
  • Weight loss
  • Blurry eyesight
  • Odd sensations or tingling in your feet

If there were no previous signs or they weren’t noticed, it’s possible that you become quite ill, showing any of these symptoms:

  • Deep, rapid breathing
  • Dry skin and mouth
  • Flushed face
  • Fruity breath odor
  • Nausea or vomiting, unable to keep down fluids
  • Stomach pain

For type 2 diabetes, the symptoms include:

  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Fatigue
