Sepsis Awareness Month 2011

Most Americans Still Haven't Heard of Sepsis

How many people still don't know about sepsis? The short answer is: too many.

The good news is that more people in 2011 have heard of sepsis than had in 2003 when a study was done to determine public awareness. Yet, it seems unbelievable that so many people still don't know what it is.

This graph gives you a good idea how high the number is of people who don't know about sepsis. It also shows you how much work we have to do.

Sepsis Alliance issued a press release on September 1, 2011 announcing the latest poll findings. To read the release, click here.
